Who is the Data Analyst?

Educational Skills
The Data Analyst must possess academic-based applicative skills in terms of mathematical and statistical models, computer science, and economics. These skills aim to define a correct organisation and management of collected data in order to extract relevant information for the company's decision-making processes.
Analytical Skills
Skills aimed at analysing and extracting, from a purely technical point of view and through appropriate tools and instruments, the main data and information related to the current status of a Website or other digital touch-points, with the aim of detecting problems and errors in SEO optics, potential criticalities and any areas for improvement for its optimisation.
Digital Listening Skills
The Data Analyst must possess the ability to monitor and collect data from third-party sources external to the company, including scraping, for the purpose of Sentiment Analysis on brands, products, or services related to B2C markets. The purposes of this activity are twofold: Sentiment and Customer Insights. It is essential to be able to manage, integrate, and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data, including through the use of textual analysis, using specific linguistic models implemented with programs such as Python and R.
CRM Skills
The Data Analyst must have knowledge and expertise in using the main CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems for collecting, monitoring, and presenting data from internal company sources, such as customers, suppliers, employees, and other stakeholders. Among the main CRMs to know are: Salesforce, HubSpot, Sales Navigator, etc.
Intelligence Tools Skills
The Data Analyst must have knowledge and experience in using the main Business Intelligence tools available on the national and international market and the major Database Management Systems (DBMS) platforms, for searching, collecting, and analysing data of an economic, financial, marketing nature, etc. This skill is necessary for activities such as Digital Audit, Competitive Intelligence, and Marketing Research.
Knowledge of Programming Languages
Knowledge of the main programming languages is necessary to allow computers and devices to transform a series of codes and instructions (input) into output data for Apps, Websites, Programs, etc. Among the main languages to know: Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML, C/C++ and CSS. Knowing server-client network structures and some specific server-side languages, such as PHP, are considered additional pluses.
